Yes, you need to set up this account.  

It is how you will receive grades while you are a student at ESLI and TAMUCC.

WARNING - THIS WILL CHANGE DURING THE SEMESTER!!!

Activate your Islander Email account

1. Go to http://newuser.tamucc.edu
2. Select ISLANDER STUDENT EMAIL.
3. Enter your A number
4. Enter your birthday with month, day, year (MMDDYYYY)
5. Click SUBMIT.
6. Write down the information it gives you (email address, user ID, password)

Before you log into the account you must wait five minutes after activation.
So go get yourself something to drink or check your facebook for a few minutes before you follow these instructions...

Log Into the Account

1. Go to http://islander.tamucc.edu/mail
2. Enter the userID name you were given (usually your last name with part of your first name and some numbers)
3. Enter the password you were given.
4. Click SUBMIT.

I love to hear your questions. Before you email me in a panic, however, read below.

1. "I forgot my password! What do I do?" 

• Go to http://newuser.tamucc.edu
• Click VIEW LAST PASSWORDS ISSUED
• Enter your A number
• Enter your birthday with month, day, year (MMDDYYYY)
• Click SUBMIT.
• Write down the information it gives you (email address, user ID, password)
• Go back to http://islander.tamucc.edu/mail
• Try to log in.

2. "I forgot my UserID! What do I do?" 

• Go to http://newuser.tamucc.edu
• Click USER ID
• Enter your A number
• Enter your birthday with month, day, year (MMDDYYYY)
• Click SUBMIT.
• Write down the information it gives you (email address, user ID, password)
• Go back to http://islander.tamucc.edu/mail
• Try to log in.

3. "I entered my information but I still can't log on? What am I doing wrong?" 

• First, after you activate your account you MUST WAIT FIVE MINUTES! sometimes a little longer...so be patient.
• Okay, you waited the five minutes and it won't let you get in. Passwords expire every semester, and sometimes it decides that it is the end of the semester (even if it is not), so your password might be expired.
• Just go to http://newuser.tamucc.edu and click ISLANDER STUDENT EMAIL so you can reset your password.

4. "Is it true I can connect my islander account to my personal email?" 

• Yes! Just follow these instructions:
• Log into your islander email.
• At the top, you will see COMPOSE, ADDRESSES, FOLDERS, OPTIONS, SEARCH, HELP, CALENDAR, FETCH.
• Click OPTIONS.
• On the right hand side you will see the words: MAIL FORWARDING (It is the fifth one from the top).
• Click MAIL FORWARDING.
• Choose FORWARD INCOMING MESSAGES TO ADDRESSES LISTED BELOW
• In the box, type in your personal email address.
• Click SUBMIT.
